A Country That Runs on Contrasts

Most Japan tour packages from India hand you a fixed route and a headline price. We work the other way around. Japan is a country of contrasts held in balance: neon cities and silent shrines, bullet trains and tea ceremonies, the newest technology beside the oldest craft. The trip you want depends entirely on which of those pulls you, and a good Japan trip moves between them on purpose, not by accident.

What changes everything here is knowing the rhythm: when the cherry blossom is worth planning a whole trip around, which temples reward an early start, how to use the rail network so the distances disappear. That judgement is what we bring. You tell us who is travelling and what you are picturing, and we shape a Japan that fits, then handle the parts that usually trip people up.

The Best Time to Visit Japan

Japan has four genuinely distinct seasons, and two of them are special. Here is how each part of the year actually feels.

March to MayPeak Season

Spring, the cherry blossom

Mild days and the famous blossom. In Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka it usually peaks from late March to early April, and further north it comes later. The dates shift each year and are never guaranteed, so we plan around the latest forecasts.

Golden Week, late April to early May, is a busy holiday period in Japan, so book hotels and trains early.

MonthDaytime high Rating Tokyo Sapporo Naha
March Ideal 14°C 5°C 22°C
April Ideal 19°C 12°C 24°C
May Ideal 24°C 18°C 27°C

Sapporo is in Hokkaido, Naha in Okinawa. Average daytime highs, Japan Meteorological Agency 1991-2020 normals. Climate averages, not a forecast.

October and NovemberPeak Season

Autumn, the colour

Mild walking weather and bright foliage. Colour arrives earlier in the north and the mountains, and later in the gardens of Kyoto and Tokyo.

Popular spots can still be busy, so the route and the timing matter.

MonthDaytime high Rating Tokyo Sapporo Naha
October Ideal 22°C 16°C 28°C
November Ideal 17°C 9°C 25°C

Sapporo is in Hokkaido, Naha in Okinawa. Average daytime highs, Japan Meteorological Agency 1991-2020 normals. Climate averages, not a forecast.

June to September

Summer, heat and rain

June is the rainy season in much of central Japan, and July and August are hot and humid in Tokyo and Kyoto. Hokkaido and the mountains are usually cooler.

Typhoons and heavy rain can disrupt travel later in the season, so we build in buffers.

MonthDaytime high Rating Tokyo Sapporo Naha
June Shoulder 26°C 22°C 30°C
July Shoulder 30°C 25°C 32°C
August Shoulder 31°C 26°C 32°C
September Good 28°C 23°C 31°C

Sapporo is in Hokkaido, Naha in Okinawa. Average daytime highs, Japan Meteorological Agency 1991-2020 normals. Climate averages, not a forecast.

December to February

Winter, snow and quiet

Cold and clear in much of the country, with snow in Hokkaido and the mountains.

The cities are often quieter outside New Year and the holidays, though ski resorts and popular sights can still be busy.

MonthDaytime high Rating Tokyo Sapporo Naha
December Good 12°C 2°C 22°C
January Good 10°C 0°C 20°C
February Good 11°C 0°C 20°C

Who Japan Suits

Honeymooners

Cities and stillness in one trip, a design hotel and a ryokan night side by side. We check the neighbourhood, private bath availability and food preferences before we propose anything.

Plan a Japan Honeymoon

Families

Bullet trains, theme parks and the famous deer of Nara Park keep children interested. We plan the pace and the rail around the ages travelling, and sort strollers, luggage and room occupancy early.

Plan a Family Trip to Japan

Culture Seekers

Temples, craft, food and ceremony, the deeper Japan. We can arrange guided walks in Kyoto, craft and food experiences, and a pace that leaves room to take the temples in.

Plan a Culture Trip to Japan

First-Timers

A first Japan trip can feel much easier with the arrival transfer, the main rail journeys, the hotels and the key reservations planned in advance. We keep the routing simple and the hotel changes few.

Entry and Visa, in Plain Terms

  1. Step 1

    Start Early

Indian passport holders generally need a visa before travelling to Japan, so it is worth starting early. If you apply from India, the short-stay tourist eVISA goes through the authorised channel, including the Japan Visa Application Centres run by VFS Global. The exact requirements depend on your nationality, residence and purpose of travel.

  2. Step 2

    We Prepare It With You

We help you check the current checklist, prepare your documents and coordinate the application steps we agree with you. The Japanese authorities decide whether to issue a visa, and approval and processing times cannot be guaranteed.

  3. Step 3

    Carry the Live eVISA Notice

If you are issued an eVISA, you must show the live issuance notice on a phone with internet access when asked, including at check-in. A screenshot, PDF, photo or printout does not count.

One Tailored Trip, Not an Off-the-Shelf Package

The difference is in the joins. We can arrange the flights that suit your day, put you in the right neighbourhood in each city, help with the visa, advise on whether a rail pass pays off, and plan the transfers so no one is standing in a station the size of a town wondering what happens next. The blossom timing, the ryokan night and the day trips are sequenced so the trip flows instead of stalling.

None of it is a fixed bundle. It is one tailored trip, shaped around who is travelling and what matters to you, with a named IMxplorer contact while you plan and on-trip support as set out in your travel confirmation.

Arranging a service does not mean it is in every quote: your written proposal lists exactly what is included.

Japan Questions, Answered

When is the best time to visit Japan?

Two windows stand out. Spring, roughly March to May, brings the cherry blossom, usually from late March to early April in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and later further north. Autumn, around October and November, brings the foliage and crisp, clear days. Both are popular, so they reward planning ahead, and the dates vary each year. Summer suits the north and winter suits the snow.

Do Indians need a visa for Japan?

Yes, in most cases you need a visa before you travel, so start early. We help you check the current requirements for your passport and prepare the application, but the Japanese authorities decide the outcome. If you are issued a Japan eVISA, you must show the live issuance notice on a phone with internet access, and a screenshot or printout does not count. We brief you on it before you fly.

How much does a Japan trip cost?

It depends on your travel dates, departure city, number of nights, hotel and room type, train travel and the experiences you choose. Blossom and autumn foliage weeks can cost more than quieter dates. We send an itemised custom quote showing which flights, hotels, trains, transfers, tickets and visa-related services are included or left out. Tell us your month, how many are travelling and a rough per-person budget, and we will suggest options that fit.

Is Japan hard to travel as a first trip?

Less than people expect. Japan's rail network is generally reliable and well organised, though occasional disruption happens. The language can feel daunting, which is exactly where we help, from the rail tickets to the reservations, so the first days feel smoother.

How many days do I need in Japan?

Ten to twelve nights is our suggested starting point for a first multi-city trip, enough for Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and a night in the mountains without rushing. Six to seven nights covers the two big cities, and with fourteen or more you can add Hiroshima or Hokkaido properly. Shorter and longer trips are possible.

Is Japan good for families?

Japan is a strong family choice, thanks to reliable transport, varied activities and well-established visitor facilities. Bullet trains, theme parks and the deer of Nara keep children interested. We plan the pace and the rail around the ages travelling.

Are international flights included in a Japan quote?

It depends on the proposal. We can plan flights from your preferred Indian departure city, but your quote states clearly whether airfare, baggage and applicable taxes are included.

Do I need a Japan Rail Pass?

Not always. For some routes, individual train tickets work out better. We compare your planned journeys and suggest the most suitable option, including any seat and luggage reservations.
